Orbis
by SamB440
Orbis is a region protection plugin for Minecraft servers, available on Fabric, NeoForge, Paper, Purpur and Sponge.
What it does
Orbis lets server owners protect areas of a world with regions. Region shapes include cuboids, polygons, polyhedrons, spheres and other spherical areas, and a selected region can be shown to players with particles. An API exposes queries over world regions for other mods and plugins to use. Fabric API is required on Fabric. The mod needs external dependencies, and server owners can generate a ready-to-use config on first start. A restart of the server is needed after changes.
The mod is open source under the MIT License and is published for 1.21.4 – 26.3 across 13 release versions. Files for Paper and Sponge target 1.21.4 – 1.21.11, with Sponge API 14 – 18, and newer or older versions have been tested. Modded builds always target the latest version, 1.21.10. Spigot is listed as compatible, but the author recommends Paper. Existing regions from another region plugin can be carried over with the orbis migrate command, and the migration wiki page explains which plugin each step covers.
Key features
Region shapes
Regions can be cuboids, polygons, polyhedrons or spherical areas, and each type is selected by its own flag set.
Region selection display
Particles outline a region while it is being selected or edited, so its boundaries are visible in the world.
Commands and flags
The interface and commands are built for everyday use, and a flag list in the wiki describes each available flag.
