by mariu_73

Opalescence adds opal crystal blocks, a budding opal that grows crystals under moonlight, and a composter loop for generating crystals on Forge and NeoForge.

ForgeNeoForgeClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.20.1 – 1.21.1

What it does

Opalescence brings opal crystals into the world. A budding opal grows moonlit opal crystals when a specific Spectrum block is placed under it and it receives direct moonlight, and the crystals can be cut into blocks with a stonecutter, while sandpaper is required for some opal blocks. The mod is published for two game versions, 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, and needs Spectrum to craft the budding opal.

Crystal growth also uses organic matter. Guano and organic compost placed in a composter grow unpleasant opal crystals, and amethyst golems gather grown opal crystals. The mod is client and server, so the server and every player need it. Forge builds are 1.0.4 for 1.20.1 and NeoForge builds are 1.0.4 for 1.21.1, both published on 2026-01-24, under the MIT License as open source.
