OneTimeOverrides
by moritzruth
OneTimeOverrides lets modpack authors ship override files that are written to a player's game only on first launch of the pack.
What it does
Modpack authors place files in a one-time-overrides directory, and each file is copied only to its intended destination. Files such as options.txt are copied the first time a player starts the modpack, so later edits by the player are kept instead of being replaced on every update. Fabric API is required, and Fabric Language Kotlin is the only other dependency. The mod is open source under the MIT License, and either side can run it, and neither needs it.
Key features
Non-overwriting overrides
Override files are added without replacing what a player has already changed on their own copy.
First-run copying
Files such as options.txt are copied once, when the modpack is first played, and not again on later updates.
Modpack directory layout
Files go into a one-time-overrides directory, and each is copied to the destination path given by its location.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Requirements

What the author says
Some override files, such as options.txt, should only be copied the first time a player plays a modpack. Otherwise, their changes would be lost every time the modpack is updated. This mod allows modpack authors to place files in the one-time-overrides directory that will only be copied to their intended destination…
