by chylex

Old Combat Mechanics removes the attack cooldown that Minecraft added to combat, so hits land at the older rate.

What it does

Old Combat Mechanics restores the older combat pace by taking away the attack cooldown that Minecraft added to combat. Players can hit repeatedly without waiting for the attack meter to refill, and the cooldown indicator is hidden. The mod is server-side only, so only the server needs it. Files exist for 1.12.2 on Forge alone, and the code is open source under The Unlicense.

Key features

  1. Cooldown removed

Attacks are no longer gated by the attack meter, so swings can follow one another without delay.

  2. Indicator hidden

The attack cooldown indicator no longer appears on the crosshair while the mod is active.

  3. Server-side install

Only the server loads the change, and players join without installing anything on their own game.

What the author says

Simple utility that removes attack cooldown added in Minecraft 1.9. When installed on the client side, it will also hide the cooldown indicator (you can do this without the mod via Options -> Video Settings -> Attack Indicator ).
