Origins: Ochre Crown
by Rolahr
Origins: Ochre Crown adds a pressure-driven crown for the Origins mod, a relic left behind in the Nether by an ancient kingdom.
What it does
The crown stores and releases pressure, measured in post-standard pressure units (PSP) on a seven-segment dial with a maximum capacity of 70 PSP. Its main use is to redirect the heat that is abundant in the Nether, which lets it carve tunnels quickly. Once pressure reaches 70 PSP, the crown spits it out automatically to avoid self-combustion. Mining with it is noted as unusually effective.
The usual way to release pressure is a burst of 10 PSP that flings the wearer back, and that burst also restores some vitality, since it is the only way the crown repairs itself. Braced, the crown instead releases a concentrated flame burst, and bracing reduces incoming damage: 75% from block falls, 50% from falling, and 25% from projectiles and other sources. Jumping and striking opponents are included in the crown's abilities, but both are disabled while braced. The crown needs fuel beyond what it can salvage from its surroundings. Provided it holds above 0 PSP, it can sustain itself indefinitely, which the mod calls Infernal Sustainability.
Origins: Ochre Crown requires Origins. The mod is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only and is not open source. Fabric files cover 1.20.1, with 1.2 as the latest file, published on 2025-07-27. The mod is server required and client optional, so the server must run it while players may leave it out.
Key features
Pressure dial
A seven-segment dial tracks pressure up to 70 PSP, and the crown releases it automatically at the cap.
Burst and self-repair
A 10 PSP burst flings the wearer back and restores some vitality, the only method of self-repair.
Braced stance
Bracing turns the burst into a concentrated flame, cuts damage from falls and projectiles, and disables jumping and striking.
Infernal Sustainability
The crown stays powered indefinitely while it holds above 0 PSP, drawing on its own pressure instead of outside fuel.

It was capable of redirecting heat (which was overwhelmingly abundant in the Ochre king's realm) in order to efficiently and rapidly carve tunnels through which the king's armies could travel, or incinerate any…
