NSB Utils brings tools and crafting recipes from the Stoneblock style of play into a NeoForge add-on for 1.21.1, built around early-game stone progression.

What it does

Gameplay in the Stoneblock style revolves around stone tools and a gradual opening, and NSB Utils brings back tools that players knew from the original Stoneblock, including the Stone Crook and the Stone Stick.

The add-on requires Ex Deorum, and it adds new crafting recipes built on that mod's Stone Hammer. Players get more crafting options and a smoother early-game progression. The mod is meant to sit naturally inside Stoneblock-inspired modpacks, balancing nostalgia for the original with fresh additions.

Installation needs NeoForge and Ex Deorum on 1.21.1. Installation covers the server and each player's game. Files are published for NeoForge only, with the 1.1-Alpha build dated 2025-11-16 on the alpha channel. The code is All rights reserved and is not open source, though source code is publicly available.

Key features

  1. Original Stoneblock tools

Stone Crook, Stone Stick and similar tools from the original Stoneblock return as early-game items.

  2. Cracked Stone block

A Cracked Stone block from the original game is added, keeping the stone progression familiar.

  3. Stone Hammer recipes

New crafting recipes use the Stone Hammer from Ex Deorum, giving more options in the early game.

  4. Stoneblock-inspired design

Content is tuned to sit alongside Stoneblock-style modpacks rather than replace their progression.
