Not-So-Peaceful: Hunger & Friends!
by athlon
Not-So-Peaceful: Hunger & Friends! removes the calm of Peaceful difficulty by adding hunger, hostile spawns and mobs that retaliate, all on the Fabric loader for 26.2.
What it does
Under Peaceful difficulty, the mod lets hostile mobs spawn and adds a hunger mechanic, so food matters even when no monster would otherwise threaten a player. Mobs that are attacked turn on the player who struck them, and the anger spreads to nearby mobs, which is shown with anger particles above the provoked creature. Slimes also spawn, and wolves switch between aggressive, passive and attacked expressions.
The author describes the mod as a way to make Peaceful a little more interesting for players who find it too empty or too calm. It is server-side only, so players join without installing it, and it does not change the game for clients. The mod is open source and is released as free software licensed for redistribution, and it requires Cloth Config API, Fabric API and Mod Menu. Files exist for 26.2 alone, with the 0.1.0 beta as the latest release, published on 2026-07-12.

Use cases
Calmer difficulty with more risk
Players who want Peaceful to feel less empty can keep the difficulty but add hunger and hostile spawns.
Who it’s for: Server owners who want a gentler survival setting with more tension, and players on such servers who have no mod to install.
How it compares
Personal Peaceful is server-side only, open source under the MIT License and published for 26.2, so it covers the same version. Peaceful Mobs runs on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt for 1.21.5 – 26.3, is not open source, and is covered by the GNU General Public License v3.0 only.

What the author says
A Minecraft 26.2 mod that overhauls the definition of Peaceful difficulty - adds hunger, lets hostile mobs spawn and overhauls their behavior to make it a bit more interesting. Sometimes I want to just chill, but I feel like the Peaceful difficulty is too empty and too easy.
