NonUpdate Reloaded
by Tigercrl
NonUpdate Reloaded, a client-side optimization mod, blocks outgoing network connections so that Minecraft stops contacting update servers during startup.
What it does
Blocking network connections is the mechanism behind the mod. By preventing update checks, it can reduce the time Minecraft takes to start, which matters most when a large modpack is installed and every mod queries its own server on launch. The config gives one switch per mod, so a whole group of mods can be turned off together while the ones still needed stay online.
The mod ships with a list of addresses. Entries can be prefixes or regular expressions, which decide whether a connection is allowed or blocked. A boolean option chooses whether the list works as a whitelist or a blacklist. When the option lets NonUpdate Reloaded temporarily allow connections to server addresses, players can still reach multiplayer servers as usual. The mod requires Cloth Config API for its settings screen.
Key features
Startup-time blocking
Outgoing connections that only check for updates are blocked, which can shorten Minecraft's launch sequence.
Per-mod switches
Update checks can be turned off for each installed mod from the config, one mod at a time or in groups.
Address lists
Allowed and blocked addresses are kept in a list, with prefix and regular expression matching.
Whitelist or blacklist mode
A config option selects whether the address list acts as a whitelist or a blacklist.
Temporary server access
An option lets the mod briefly permit connections to server addresses, so players can join multiplayer servers.

How it compares
NonUpdate-Retro is the older version of this mod, built for Forge on 1.7.10, with a Mozilla Public License 2.0 license. Its files work on either side, and neither side needs it. ResourcePackCached is a different kind of client-side optimization, published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt across 1.20 – 26.3 under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only. QuickNames is a Fabric-only client mod for 1.21.4 – 1.21.11 under the Apache License 2.0, and it is not open source.

What the author says
However, when you installed a whole bunch of mods, it's not easy to turn it off one by one in their config, and some mods may not be able to turn it off. This mod might be able to help you by blocking network connections.
