New Big Trees
by JeroboamIII
New Big Trees generates a set of large custom trees in matching biomes across the world on NeoForge, with each tree built from vanilla wood blocks.
What it does
Trees are placed during world generation, so the mod affects new chunks rather than existing terrain. Each tree type is tied to one biome family: baobab-style trees in savanna-like areas, birch, oak, jungle and redwood variants in their matching forests, dark oak in dark forests, and magnificent trees in swamp-like terrain. Some types are rarer and appear with a chance of 1/32 or 1/64, while the dark oak, at 1/4, is the most frequent. Floating blue, crimson and golden trees appear in nether and end-style biomes, and an end-style pine and purple tree are listed as well.
The trunks use vanilla wooden blocks, and tree generation can replace existing blocks. Saplings from some trees can drop from leaves at a low rate, and the mod adds foods and a charcoal powder alongside them. The foods restore health or hunger, and some apply effects such as night vision. The mod is released under CC0 1.0 Universal, which is not open source, and it is published for the 1.21.1 game version only. The server needs it, while a client may leave it out, so players who join without the mod still see the trees the server generates.
