Nether Tweaks

by Funk Planet

Nether Tweaks lets server owners change how a few Nether structures are placed, including the height at which Nether Fortresses generate.

What it does

The mod makes small adjustments to Nether-related structures through a short list of configuration options. The most notable option sets a y-offset for Nether Fortress placement, which changes where fortresses appear relative to the portal area. Nether Tweaks also controls which structures are allowed to light a Nether portal, so a server can limit lighting to chosen spots such as ruined portals.

Nether Tweaks is server-side only, so players join without installing it. It needs Cloth Config API as a required dependency, and Mod Menu is optional. Files are published for Fabric and Forge, for Minecraft 1.20.1 only, under the MIT License, and the source code is open source.

Key features

  1. Fortress height offset

A configurable y-offset moves where Nether Fortresses are placed in the world generation.

  2. Portal lighting limits

Nether portals can be lit only inside the bounding boxes of listed structures, such as ruined portals.

  3. Lighting restriction removal

An option lets portals keep working after one has been lit successfully, dropping the structure restriction.
