What it does

Tin and aluminum ores generate underground like other ores. Smelting produces ingots, and an Alloy Pot combines ingots with other items to make stronger alloys. Metal plates are made in a Hammer on a Build Workbench, and they serve as a basic ingredient for most of the mod's other content, so they come up early.

Machines are built from component casings and machine parts, and many of them need cats to run. A new logistics method and a low-performance power system both depend on the feline workers. Players first obtain a worker by crafting a Cat Box, trapping a wild cat, and feeding it until it is tame; a tame cat then drops Cat Fur and other items, and Cat Grass and Catnip can be planted for further materials. Materials become available as the furnace temperature is raised. The mod's models follow vanilla Minecraft's style, and a Patchouli guide explains the machines.

NekoTech is open source under the MIT License. It is a Fabric-only mod, published for 1.21 and 1.21.1, and it is installed on the client and the server, so both sides need it. The author notes that the content is still in alpha testing and not yet complete.

Key features

  1. Underground ores

Tin and aluminum ores spawn underground, like other ores in the world.

  2. Alloy Pot

Ingots and other items placed in the Alloy Pot produce better alloys than plain smelting.

  3. Cat-based workers

Tame cats drop Cat Fur and other goodies, and they help run machines and logistics.

  4. Patchouli guide

A Patchouli book explains the machines and early steps, so the tutorial sits in the game.
