Neighborly brings a cast of Animal Crossing style neighbors into the world, with characters who talk, find their own homes and join a town.
What it does
Neighbors in the mod are animal characters with their own personalities and dialog. The dialog system covers more than 250 lines, and the character writing is the main focus, so the development of each neighbor carries most of the content. Players can check in with neighbors regularly, build friendship with them and help them gather resources toward the house they want to build.
The mod suits cozy and peaceful play, and it adds depth to a game without adding new combat or a new progression track. Neighborly runs on Forge and NeoForge for Minecraft 1.20.1, 1.21.1 and 1.21.8, and the environment is client and server, so the server and every player need it. The code is under All rights reserved, so the mod is not open source. The latest Forge file is 1.8.0 for 1.20.1, and the latest NeoForge file is 1.8.0 for 1.21.8, both published on 2025-12-21.
