Monsters in the Closet Reborn outlines hostile mobs that stop a player from sleeping, so the cause of a failed night is visible.

What it does

When a player tries to sleep and hostile mobs are nearby, the mod outlines those monsters for a few seconds so they can be located and dealt with. The highlight shows only the mobs that block sleep, and a message reports that sleep is not possible while they are close. The project descends from an earlier mod of the same name, which stopped receiving updates for new Minecraft versions.

Files are published for Fabric, NeoForge and Quilt across six game versions, 1.21.11 – 26.3, and the code is open source under the MIT License. Either side can run it, and neither needs it.

    Mobs that prevent sleeping are outlined so a player can see which ones to remove.

    The outline lasts only about 3 seconds before it fades.

    A message explains that sleep is not possible while monsters are near, instead of an unexplained failure.
