Monster Hunter Villager

by Yoshi01111

Monster Hunter Villager introduces a hunter profession for villagers, with a Hunter's Table workstation and traps that players craft and throw at mobs on Forge 1.20.1.

ForgeClient and serverApache License 2.01.19.2 – 1.20.1

What it does

Villagers can take up the hunter profession, and a hunter uses a new Hunter's Table as the workstation where trades are offered. Several trades are tied to mob drops, so players bring what they collect from fights to exchange for items. Players who want to craft the traps use the Hunter's Workbench, which takes the Trap Prototype as an ingredient.

The mod's gear centers on the hunt itself. The Hunter's Knife deals extra damage on each hit, scaled to a share of a mob's maximum health, and it can slow targets. Three throwable traps cover different jobs: a Sticky Trap that slows enemies like a cobweb but lasts longer, a Sharpened Trap that damages mobs it lands on, and a Soul Chain Trap that pulls mobs toward it while slowing them.

Monster Hunter Villager is built with Forge and runs on client and server, so both the server and every player need it. Files cover 1.19.2 – 1.20.1 (3 release versions), with 1.2.1 for 1.20.1 as the latest file. The code is released under the Apache License 2.0, and the mod is not open source. It was first published on 2023-11-13 and last updated on 2024-07-26, and the mod was made using MCreator.
