Modular Backpacks
Players who want a backpack shaped by their own playstyle can use Modular Backpacks, which lets a backpack take swappable modules in its four module slots.
What it does
The mod centers on a backpack with 9 storage slots and 4 module slots. Each module adds a separate function, and modules can be swapped to change what the backpack does, so a player builds a backpack around the tasks they care about. Enchantments can also alter how the backpack works. Equipped modules show visually on the backpack, and the backpack's dye color changes the color of its screen.
The standard storage module adds more room, and a Farming Pot module allows portable crop growth. An arrow module stores arrows and can imbue them with effects, and a suspicious stew module accepts stew. Most modules have at least one upgrade.
Modular Backpacks is published for Forge and NeoForge, with files for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1. Every player and the server need a copy of the mod. It is licensed under All rights reserved and is not open source. Translations exist for Simplified Chinese, Canadian French, Brazilian Portuguese, European Portuguese, Spanish, Chilean Spanish, Russian and Arabic.
Key features
Swappable modules
Four module slots accept different modules, so each backpack can be configured for a different set of tasks.
Visible module slots
Installed modules are displayed on the backpack itself, so the setup can be read without opening it.
Farming module
The Farming Pot module allows crops to grow while the backpack is carried, supporting portable farming.
Enchantment effects
Enchantments can change how the backpack functions, beyond adding storage or modules.
Dye color screen
Dyeing the backpack changes the color of its GUI, so each backpack can be told apart in a crowd of storage.
