Modern Minecarts

Modern Minecarts reworks minecart rails and carts so players can chain carts into trains, link their inventories and refuel them.
What it does
The mod adds Copper Rails, powered rails that move carts twice as fast as ordinary powered rails and are crafted with copper instead of gold. Copper oxidizes over time and slows the rail to half speed, while waxing with honeycomb stops the change. Chains of carts can be built by shift-right-clicking minecarts, letting a single train carry many carts.
Chest, hopper and furnace minecarts that are chained together share their inventories, so one hopper cart can load or unload the whole train. Furnace minecarts gain a speedometer screen with a fuel slot, travel twice as fast and can refuel themselves from attached chest or hopper carts, which lets them keep burning across long chunk loads. Rail Jump ramps, Rail Crossings, Directed Powered Rails and a Powered Detector Rail that accelerates stationary carts are also included.
The mod runs on the client and the server, so both sides need it. Files are published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 26 release versions, 1.19.2 – 26.2. It is released under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license and is not open source, though the source code and issue tracker are publicly linked.
