Mobs Are Gone

by Blazelow

Mobs Gone is a Fabric and NeoForge mod that lets server owners and players decide which mobs may spawn in a world.

FabricNeoForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.21.1 – 26.1.2

What it does

Players build a blacklist of mobs that should not appear in the world, and any mob on that list is prevented from spawning. Mobs already present when a name is added are removed. Mods that add their own entities can be blacklisted in the same way, and a mob can be swapped for another one, for example a cow used in place of minecraft:cow. Changes to the blacklist apply immediately, so no restart is needed, though the mod itself is loaded like any other.

The blacklist can be edited by hand or through an in-game configuration screen that lets users search and browse mobs. That screen is reached through Catalogue, Fabric Mod Menu or NeoForge's mod list. Mob Spawners and Trial Spawners are handled separately, so a spawner can be allowed to produce blacklisted mobs, and a Spawner Mob Rules screen manages those rules. Villagers, Iron Golems and Snow Golems can be blacklisted as well.

The mod fits vanilla-style survival worlds that should be free of hostile mobs, modpacks that need one spawn policy across several entity mods, and servers whose players prefer a cozy setting. Servers that run it need every player to install it too. Mobs Gone is published for Fabric and NeoForge under All rights reserved and is not open source. Files exist for 1.21.1 and 26.1.2.

Key features

  1. Spawn blacklist

Any mob added to the blacklist is prevented from spawning, and existing instances of it are removed.

  2. Instant changes

Edits to the blacklist take effect right away, without restarting the game.

  3. In-game configuration

A configuration screen lets users search and browse mobs and edit the list without touching files.

  4. Spawner rules

Mob Spawners and Trial Spawners get their own rules, so they can be allowed to produce blacklisted mobs.

  5. Mob substitution

A mob can be replaced by another, such as a cow used instead of minecraft:cow, and both forms work.
