Mob LootBags
Mob LootBags, a Client and server mod from NightBeam Studio, makes mobs drop loot bags with a chance on defeat, and each bag holds a reward that depends on its rarity.
What it does
When a mob is defeated, there is a chance that it leaves a loot bag behind. The bag belongs to one of several rarity levels, and the rarity sets the general quality of the rewards inside it. Common bags hold food and everyday supplies. Uncommon bags hold more valuable items, rare bags hold harder-to-find materials and strong rewards, and epic bags hold high-value loot aimed at established players. Legendary bags contain extremely valuable, uncommon treasures. The mod also expands the tiers so that further rewards can appear over time.
The mod is built to add a layer of progression to ordinary combat and exploration without replacing the core survival experience. Rather than limiting drops to standard items, a defeated mob can yield something more valuable. It requires Jauml, and both the server and every player need the mod, since the environment is client and server. It is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, with files covering 1.16.5 – 26.3 across ten release versions, and the code is open source under the Apache License 2.0.
Key features
Random mob loot bags
Defeated mobs may drop a bag containing randomized loot instead of only their usual drops.
Multiple rarity levels
Bags come in common, uncommon, rare, epic and legendary tiers, each with rewards suited to its rarity.
Expandable reward tiers
Additional tiers can be added, so the range of rewards grows as the mod expands.
Naturally paced progression
The bag system complements existing exploration, combat and adventure content without requiring players to change how they play.
