Miner's Minerals

by ZephaniahNoah

Miner's Minerals adds more than 50 metal and gem ores to worlds, with a generation system that places them in unusual spots, such as gravel beneath jungle biomes.

What it does

Ores generated by Miner's Minerals do not appear as ordinary vanilla clusters. They spawn as veins that stay connected across the sides of neighboring ore blocks, and corner connections can hide a single block a player has missed while digging through stone. Some ores are tied to specific places, and new stone types are added so the mod's ores can spawn inside existing chunks of a world that is already running.

The minerals serve as crafting material for tools, armor and weapons. Three new weapons are included: shurikens, spears and greatswords. Behavior is controlled through config files, where a dimension blacklist can keep ores out of specific dimensions, and lists of base blocks such as stones and sands decide what material an ore vein replaces. Support for the hammer mod and the excavator mod is included.

Installation runs on Forge or NeoForge for 1.20.1, and the files cover game versions 1.16.5, 1.18.2 and 1.20.1. Both the server and every player need the mod, and the code is under the MIT License, so it is open source.

Key features

  1. Over 50 metal and gem ores

The mod adds more than 50 metal and gem ores, along with additional blocks for them.

  2. Connected ore veins

Veins grow from blobs of ore, with each block joined to the sides of its neighbors and corners, so a vein can be mined in full.

  3. Base block lists

Config files list the blocks ores may replace, such as marble, limestone, soapstone and gravel, and new ores can be added to those lists.

  4. Minerals for tools and weapons

The minerals craft tools, armor and three weapons: shurikens, spears and greatswords.

What the author says

Miner's Minerals adds 50+ metals and gems. It features a unique ore system. Some ores can only be found in specific places like in gravel or under a jungle. Ores that spawn in blocks like gravel will use gravel as the base texture, so no ores ever look out of place. (See the config section to learn more about ore…
