Minecarts Overhaul
Minecarts Overhaul reworks rail transport in Fabric worlds, adding copper rails with tiered speeds, furnace minecarts that pull trains, and a dispenser minecart.
What it does
The mod rebuilds the vanilla rail system around faster track and smarter carts. Copper rails can take the place of powered rails when a player wants more speed, and they come in four tiers that age the way vanilla copper does, along the same chain: the base rail tops out at 40 m/s, the exposed rail at 20, the weathered rail at 10 and the oxidized rail at 5. The copper rails only raise the speed ceiling; propulsion remains the cart's responsibility.
Furnace minecarts are a new locomotive that drives itself along rail without powered-rail boosts. Coal can be dropped straight into the furnace cart, and a chest or hopper minecart placed against it pulls fuel automatically when it runs low. A train is assembled by setting carts down behind a furnace minecart that is already moving, and as many as seven trailers can link on within one tick, with visible chain links drawn between each pair. Breaking a rail disconnects the chain and kills the engine.
Minecarts Overhaul is published for Fabric only, for 1.21.11 – 26.1.2 across four release versions. It needs Fabric API. The server and every player need the mod installed. The code is under the MIT License and open source.
Key features
Copper rail speed tiers
Copper rails replace powered rails and come in four tiers that oxidize over time, each with a different speed cap.
Patina and wax
Patina advances an oxidizable copper block one stage, and honeycomb wax stops weathering entirely.
Furnace minecart locomotive
Furnace minecarts drive themselves along rail and can pull coal from an attached chest or hopper minecart.
Chained trains
Up to seven trailers attach behind a furnace minecart, and the engine's speed carries down the chain across unpowered rail.
Dispenser minecart
A dispenser minecart with a 9-slot inventory fires its items along the rail, with an 8-tick cooldown between shots.

How it compares
Railed is a Fabric mod for client and server, under All rights reserved and not open source, with files for 1.21 – 26.2. Rails Revamped is also a Fabric mod for client and server, published under the BSD 3-Clause License and open source, for 1.21.1 – 26.3. Duch Cart Fix is client-side only and not open source, for 1.21 – 26.2, so it changes nothing on the server.

What the author says
Vanilla minecarts cap out at 8 m/s, lose all momentum off track, and stop dead the moment they leave a powered rail. This mod rebuilds the entire rail system: faster track, smarter carts, and trains that actually pull cargo behind them. Copper rails replace powered rails as the high-speed option. The base rail caps…
