MiiWillisCombatSound

by MiiWilli

MiiWillisCombatSound changes the sound that plays when a sword lands a hit, and adds a separate tone for strikes made while jumping.

ForgeNeoForgeClient or server, optionalCustom license1.16.5 – 1.21.1

What it does

Minecraft's default sword hit noise is replaced by one of two custom sounds. A grounded swing plays the standard replacement, while a strike delivered mid-jump plays a special air-combo tone. The sounds are meant for modded swords and work with Better Combat and Epic Fight, and the mod needs no configuration to start. Forge and NeoForge builds are published for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, under a custom license that is not open source.

Key features

  1. Grounded sword hit sound

Standing on the ground and hitting with a sword replaces the default hit noise with a custom sound.

  2. Air-combo tone

A strike made while jumping plays a distinct combo sound, so aerial attacks can be told apart by ear.

  3. Modded sword support

The sound swap also applies to swords added by other combat mods, including Better Combat and Epic Fight.

Questions

Does MiiWillisCombatSound need Better Combat or Epic Fight?

No. Those mods are named for compatibility, and the sound swap works with modded swords from them, but the mod does not require either one.
