Metal Works
by licitlettuce
Metal Works, a Forge and NeoForge world generation mod, adds tin, bronze and a set of vanilla-styled metals with their own tools, armor and decorative blocks.
What it does
Tin is the core addition. Raw tin is smelted into ingots and crafted into a wide set of decorative blocks, plus armor and tools. Tin gear is lighter and easier to craft than iron, with lower stats and less durability. A single tin deposit yields noticeably more metal than a single iron deposit. Tin blocks follow the same path as copper: they oxidize over time into a grayish-brown tarnished form that is twice as tough as regular tin, they can be waxed through honeycombs at the crafting grid, and an axe scrapes the wax off to restore oxidation.
Bronze is produced differently. Bronze ore does not generate in the world; instead four raw copper and four raw tin are combined in a crafting grid to produce four crude bronze, which is then smelted into bronze ingots. Bronze is stronger than iron, with more durability, damage and efficiency, and it falls short of diamond while bridging the gap between the two tiers. Bronze loot appears in villages and many other structures in the Overworld.
Metal Works also adds the Lost Citadel, an ancient tower structure found in the Nether's Soul Sand Valleys in four variants. The citadel is home to many skeletons and littered with treasure chests, and its soul soil holds heaping amounts of tin. The Valleys structure introduces a new block, soul bricks, craftable from soul soil. Installation needs Blueprint. The mod runs on client and server, so both the server and every player need it, and it is published for Forge and NeoForge for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, under a custom license that is not open source.
Key features

Tin provides ingots, tools, armor and a full suite of decorative blocks modeled on vanilla copper.
Tarnishing tin blocks
Tin blocks oxidize into a tarnished form, slightly slower than copper, and can be waxed and scraped like copper blocks.
