Mbembe Reforged adds a tall, dinosaur-like cryptid that rarely spawns in rivers, with a few food and fishing effects tied to its drops and held items.

What it does

The Mbembe is a tall reptile that appears rarely in river biomes. Its behavior is limited: it only attacks players who have provoked it, and it deals extra damage to entities while standing in water. Well known extinct birds spawn commonly on stone shores and beaches, so coastal areas gain a separate set of animals.

Several items change its behavior. Giving the Heart of the Sea grants the Mokele's Blessing effect, which improves loot when fishing. Giving a Glistering Melon produces a unique variant, and right-clicking the variant with a water bucket turns it back into the normal form. Naming the creature Lowtiergod triggers side effects that appear only in newer versions.

Mbembe Reforged is a reforged version of the Mbembe mod, published for Forge and NeoForge. The files target 1.20.1 and 1.20.4, with 1.0.0 as the latest file for each loader, released on 2024-05-19. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. The mod is released under All rights reserved and is not open source.
