Lumina

by barce

Lumina is a lightweight Fabric utility that adds fullbright gamma control with a separate brightness value for each dimension.

FabricClient-side onlyMIT LicenseOpen source26.1.1 – 26.3

What it does

Lumina sets a fullbright brightness level for each dimension. When a player travels between dimensions, the mod switches to that dimension's saved value automatically, so a bright Overworld and a darker Nether can each keep their own setting. The brightness values can be customized per dimension in the config, which is reachable through the Video Settings screen.

Lumina can post short actionbar notifications when brightness changes, and the message style is minimal and simple. It works alongside Sodium through an integration, and Sodium must be installed for the mod to run. The mod is published for Fabric only, across four game versions: 26.1.1, 26.1.2, 26.2 and 26.3, with 0.1.5 for 26.3 as the latest file. It runs on the client alone, so servers need nothing installed. The code is released under the MIT License and is open source.

Key features

  1. Per-dimension brightness

Each dimension keeps its own fullbright value, so brightness can differ between the Overworld, the Nether and the End.

  2. Automatic dimension switching

Brightness updates on its own when a player moves between dimensions, with no key press needed.

  3. Video Settings config

Brightness values are adjusted in a config screen reachable from the Video Settings menu.

  4. Actionbar notifications

Brief messages appear in the actionbar when brightness changes, in a minimal style.

Use cases

Dark dimensions

Players who find the Nether or caves too dim can raise brightness there without changing it in the Overworld.

Sodium setups

Players running Sodium can use the Sodium Integration to keep brightness control inside the same settings flow.

Who it’s for: Players on the client who want a brightness setting that depends on the dimension they are in. Only the client needs the mod, so server owners can leave it out.
