Lore Keeper
Lore Keeper lets creators build an in-game compendium of categories and entries, with titles, descriptions and images, that players reveal by exploring the world.
What it does
Creators add a compendium directly in the game and organize it into categories. Each entry can carry a custom title, a description and images, and categories can have their own images. The tools are meant to be simple enough for creators to build and manage a whole information system without leaving the game, and admins and default players get different permissions, so the level of customization can be adjusted for each role.
Entries are tied to discoveries. A player finds a forest, ruin, town, dungeon or landmark by traveling through regions, and the matching entry appears in the compendium, with a popup announcing the discovery. Progress through exploration is tracked, so information arrives as the player moves through the world. The mod can hold beastiaries, regions, lore, quests and guides, and it suits maps and servers built around exploration.
Lore Keeper runs on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, and it is a client and server mod, so both the server and every player need it. Builds exist for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, and the latest files are 1.21.1-2.1 and 1.20.1-2.1, published 2026-06-08. The mod is released under All rights reserved and is not open source, so redistribution, reposting, reuploading, modification and porting require permission.

How it compares
RPG Lore is open source under the MIT License and runs on Forge and NeoForge for 1.20.1 – 1.21.1, with client and server as its environment. Phoenix's Archives is also open source under the MIT License, but it is published only for Forge and only for 1.20.1, so it covers a narrower set of versions. Lore Keeper is not open source, and it reaches Fabric as well as Forge and NeoForge.
