Fabulocks!
Fabulocks! adds a lock system to Fabric worlds, where a block can be locked, opened with its key or picked with a lockpick through a Skyrim-style minigame.
What it does
Players lock chests, barrels, doors and beds with a craftable lock. Locks come in four tiers, Copper, Iron, Diamond and Netherite, and a higher tier is harder to pick. Sneaking and right-clicking a block secures it and gives the player the original key. Once locked, the block opens only with that key, and only the lock owner and admins can break the lock. Multi-part blocks such as double doors, double chests and beds are protected as a whole. A padlock indicator in the lock's tier color appears when a player looks at a locked block, so the protection level and how hard it is to crack can be read at a glance.
The mod can also place locks in generated structures, so some containers arrive already locked with random loot inside. Locks appear in many of the generated structures added by the game, including villages and ancient cities. Duplicate keys can be made by crafting a key blank next to an original key, though duplicates open only the lock they were made from until the original is removed. The mod is client and server, and it is released under the MIT License. Fabulocks! is not open source. Files exist for Fabric only, for 1.20.1 – 1.20.6, and the latest file is 1.1.0 for 1.20.6.
Key features
Skyrim-style lockpicking
A lockpick used on a locked block starts a minigame modeled on the lockpicking in Skyrim.
Four lock tiers
Locks and lockpicks are craftable in Copper, Iron, Diamond and Netherite, with higher tiers harder to pick and lockpicks lasting longer.
Specific keys
Each lock is paired with one original key, and a lock can be removed with sneak and right-click to get the lock item back.
Key bundles
Keys can be grouped into a dyeable bundle-like item, merged and unmerged from the inventory in one place.
Master key
A creative-only master key opens any lock, for administration and building.
