LocalRTP

by Hikerys

LocalRTP is a Fabric server mod that teleports players to a random spot within a configured radius of where they stand, rather than to world spawn.

FabricServer-side onlyMIT License26.1 – 26.3

What it does

Unlike traditional RTP plugins that send players to world spawn, LocalRTP picks a destination within a minimum and maximum distance from the player's current position. The defaults are 1000 and 5000 blocks. The mod checks each candidate spot and steers away from lava, fire, magma, cacti and oceans, landing players on the highest solid block. Teleports into the Nether and End are supported, and water landings can be allowed or refused in the config.

The mod is built for server-side use. Clients need the mod installed as well, and Fabric API is required on Fabric. A player can start a teleport by typing rtp, and a countdown lets them land somewhere safe around them; moving or taking damage during the countdown cancels the teleport. Target chunks are generated before the move, which avoids glitching blocks and reduces server freezes, and the delay and cooldown are configurable. Mod Menu settings expose the options in an in-game screen.

LocalRTP is published for Fabric only, for 26.1 – 26.3 (5 release versions). It is released under the MIT License and is not open source. The latest Fabric file is 1.1.1 for 26.3, dated 2026-08-25.

Key features

  1. Local random teleport

Destinations are picked relative to the player's current position inside a configured radius.

  2. Safe landing checks

Candidate spots are checked for lava, fire, magma, cacti and oceans, and the player lands on solid ground.

  3. Interruptible countdown

A configurable delay runs before the teleport, and moving or taking damage during it cancels the move.

  4. Chunk preloading

Target chunks are generated before the teleport to avoid glitching blocks and reduce server freezes.

  5. Radius and water options

Minimum and maximum distance, the cooldown and whether water landings are allowed can all be set in the config.
