LingtingMinecraftSecurity
by lingting
LingtingMinecraftSecurity gives the Minecraft client a security manager that controls which network request targets the game may reach.
What it does
The mod checks outgoing network requests made by the game against a set of rules. Targets can be matched by domain name, a specific IP address, or a primary domain name. Entries are kept in a whitelist of allowed targets and a blacklist of denied ones, so a request can be permitted or refused based on where it is headed.
A whitelist entry for a primary domain name also covers its subdomains, so one rule can allow an entire site and its hosts. A blacklist entry for a primary domain name blocks its subdomains in the same way. The allowIp option decides whether IP addresses on the allow list are accepted. The mod runs only on the client, so the server does not need it and players join servers without installing anything.
The mod is published for Fabric, Forge and Quilt across 58 release versions, 1.6.1 – 1.21.8, and the code is open source under the Apache License 2.0. Its latest file, 2024.06.28, targets 1.21.8 and is dated 2025-08-01.
Key features
Network request control
Outgoing requests from the game are checked against the configured rules before they are allowed to reach a target.
Domain and IP rules
Targets can be listed by domain name, by a specific IP address, or by a primary domain name.
Subdomain handling
A rule on a primary domain name applies to the subdomains beneath it, whether the entry sits on the whitelist or the blacklist.
IP allow setting
An allowIp option controls whether IP addresses on the allow list are accepted, so address-based access can be switched on or off.
