Let Me See See

by amotassic

Let Me See See adds a command and a tool item that let players view and edit the inventory of nearly any living entity.

FabricNeoForgeClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.21 – 1.21.1

What it does

The /letmecc command and the letmecc:let cc item open an inventory view for a chosen mob, villager or piglin. Every mob gets a default inventory with a main hand, an off-hand and four armor slots, and creatures that already carry a native inventory, such as villagers and piglins, can be opened as well. Within that view, items can be taken out, placed in or swapped.

Slot restrictions do not apply to inventories opened through the mod, so a player can place any item in any slot. The author recommends pairing the mod with an inventory-sorting mod for easier handling. Pressing the Delete key in the interface clears the item on the cursor. The mod is published for Fabric and NeoForge, with files for 1.21 and 1.21.1, under the MIT License, and its source code is public.

Let Me See See runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. It can work alongside Curios API and Trinkets, which add accessory slots that the mod's view can reach.

Key features

  1. Inventory command

The /letmecc command opens the inventory of a targeted living entity for viewing and editing.

  2. Inspection tool

The letmecc:let cc item performs the same inspection when used on a mob, without typing a command.

  3. Default mob slots

Every mob has a main hand, an off-hand and four armor slots by default, so equipment can be set on any creature.

  4. Free editing

Slot restrictions are ignored in inventories opened through the mod, so any item can be moved into any slot.

  5. Accessory compatibility

Curios API and Trinkets accessory slots are supported when those mods are installed.

Does the server need the mod as well as players?

Yes. Servers that run it need every player to install it too.

Can it be used with inventory sorting mods?
