Create: Lazy Engines
by natim6
Create: Lazy Engines makes the steam engines of the Create add-on configurable, changing their heat, water and output settings.
What it does
Heat level, speed, efficiency and boiler limits are set in the mod's config rather than fixed in code. A steam engine's required heat stage, which burner types can supply it, the RPM it produces and the water input it needs in millibuckets can each be adjusted. The number of boiler levels a single engine accepts can be changed too, along with the tank capacity it requires.
The mod depends on Create, so it installs alongside that mod on Fabric, Forge or NeoForge. It runs on the client and the server, and both need it for the settings to apply. Files are published for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, and the MIT License covers the code, which is open source.
Key features
Configurable steam engines
Steam engine values are exposed in config, so server owners can tune engines without editing Create's source.
Heat and burner requirements
The heat level a burner must reach, and which passive heat sources qualify, can be changed for the engine.
Speed and efficiency
RPM output and passive efficiency of the engine can be set to values other than the defaults.
Boiler and water limits
The number of boiler levels an engine supports and the water it draws per tick are adjustable settings.
