KasugaLib
by MegumiKasuga
KasugaLib is a Forge library for mod developers, providing registrations for network channels, menus and screens, plus helpers for image and GUI work.
What it does
The library aims to cut the workload of Forge mod development. It provides user-friendly registrations for packets, network channels (ChannelReg) and menus with screens (MenuReg), and it covers some registrations that Forge otherwise leaves to the developer. Registration through data generation is also part of the design, since most modders already use that approach.
A GUI engine modeled on React Native is included, along with static image holders, image masks and tools that help bridge differences between Minecraft versions. A separate Create version, KasugaLib Create, adds create utilities. Some functions are still experimental, and a few modules are still under construction.
KasugaLib is open source under the MIT License and is published for Forge only, with files for eleven release versions and 0.22.1 as the latest file for 1.20.1. Its environment is not stated on the Modrinth page, and no alternatives are listed. One other mod, NeoKuayue, requires it.
Key features
Network channels
ChannelReg registers network channels, so mods can send packets between client and server without manual setup.
Menus and screens
MenuReg registers menus and their matching screens in one place, following the Forge registration model.
GUI engine
A GUI engine based on the React Native approach builds interface layouts from components.
Image tools
StaticImageHolder, StaticImage and ImageMask handle static images and masking for use in mod interfaces.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.

Use cases
Building a Forge mod faster
A developer can use the registrations for packets, channels and menus instead of writing each one by hand.
Targeting several Minecraft versions
The version-difference helpers support a range of release versions, so one codebase can run on more than one release.
Who it’s for: Mod developers who build for Forge and want shared registration code for packets, menus and GUIs. Players who only install finished mods have no use for it on their own.
