Karambit
by Desert Hydra
Karambit recolors and adds wood sets to the overworld, so bamboo, mangrove, acacia and cherry blocks take on new tones and wood types.
What it does
Karambit changes the look of wood in the overworld. Bamboo planks lose their green hue and take on tones closer to real bamboo, and mangrove shifts to a deeper orange. Acacia is replaced by a new wood called Bulnesia, cherry by Purpleheart, and warped by Malachite. Crimson stays red, and rosewater, a pink wood set, is also part of the palette.
The mod adds Azurite as a completely new wood set, and it introduces new tree generation in the overworld. Crimson and Malachite water can be right-clicked to obtain cooling, which the author describes as a mechanic borrowed from the original cherry wood. Most of the mod is a resource pack in spirit, around 99 percent of its content, with only the pink wood treated as a true mechanic reimplementation.
Karambit runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. Files are published for Fabric and Quilt, for 1.21.1 and 1.21.3, and the code is licensed under the Mozilla Public License 2.0, making it open source. The author states that the mod remains usable with worlds created before it was installed.
Key features
Recolored vanilla wood
Bamboo, mangrove and other overworld wood types are tinted to match real plank colors rather than their original palette.
Replacement wood types
Bulnesia stands in for acacia, Purpleheart for cherry and Malachite for warped, each with its own block set.
Azurite wood set
Azurite adds a new wood set with planks, logs and related blocks that did not exist in vanilla.
Cooling from water
Right-clicking Crimson or Malachite water yields cooling, a mechanic taken over from the cherry wood it replaces.

Use cases
Building with biome-accurate wood
Builders who want wood colors closer to real-world species can use the recolored palette in houses and scenery.
Adding wood variety to existing worlds
Because worlds created before the mod remain usable, it can be added to a running survival world without losing progress.
Who it’s for: Builders and players who want overworld wood with different colors and species, and server owners who want a light visual change that does not alter worlds already in progress.
