Kaleido

by yanggx98

Kaleido is a Fabric library that other mods build on, offering shared API hooks and tooltip-related methods for mod authors.

FabricClient and serverAll rights reserved1.20.1 – 1.21

What it does

Kaleido is a library: installing it alone changes nothing visible in the game, and its purpose is to supply code that other mods call. Players only see an effect when a mod that requires it is also installed, such as Immersive:Tooltip. Client and server both need it, so every player and the server must run the same build. Its files target Fabric for 1.20.1 – 1.21, with 1.21-1.1.4 as the latest beta release, dated 2024-06-24, under All rights reserved and not open source.

Key features

  1. Shared library API

Provides extra API hooks that other mods can call, with Fabric API as the base layer.

  2. Tooltip methods

Exposes a set of methods centered on tooltip handling, which the author describes as stable.

  3. Handlers for dependent mods

Adds handler classes used by the author's own mods, so those mods can share one implementation.

Questions

Does Immersive:Tooltip need Kaleido?

Yes. Immersive:Tooltip requires Kaleido, so Kaleido must be installed next to it for that mod to load.

Does Kaleido need Fabric API?

Kaleido is built on Fabric API, so Fabric API should be installed alongside it on a Fabric instance.

What the author says

Kaleido simply adds handlers used by mods created by myself. It provides some extra api on fabric api.I want to open this lib sources code after when I think some api interface was stable.:) At present, it is only mixing methods about tooltip. My other mod needs this as the front. Installing this alone will not make…
