Jukebox Custom Disc Fix

by eclipseisoffline

Jukebox Custom Disc Fix stops custom music discs from being cut off early when they play in a jukebox, by changing when the server tells clients to end a disc.

FabricForgeNeoForgeQuiltClient or server, optionalGNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 onlyOpen source1.20.1 – 26.3

What it does

Vanilla Minecraft tells the client to end a disc when the vanilla track would finish, which cuts off longer custom tracks. This mod changes the timing: the stop signal is sent only when the disc item leaves the jukebox, whether a hopper takes it or a player clicks the jukebox. Custom discs from a resource pack therefore play through to their real length.

The fix is a server-side change, so when it is installed on a server, players connecting to that server do not need the mod. From Minecraft 1.21 a client-side part also ignores the server's stop packets and ends a song only when the jukebox block state is set to false. Players who want that part must install the mod on their client.

The mod is available for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, in builds for 1.20.1 – 26.3. Fabric and NeoForge cover the 26.1 line and later, while the other loaders receive ports for the 1.20.x versions. The Fabric API is not required. The code is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, and the source code and issue tracker are public.

Key features

  1. Full-length custom discs

Custom music discs played in a jukebox continue until their own sound ends, not until the vanilla disc length.

  2. Hopper and click removal

The stop signal is triggered when a hopper or a player removes the disc, so playback follows the disc item.

  3. Optional client-side fix

An optional part ignores server stop packets and uses the jukebox block state, so a client can play discs in full.

  4. Custom disc packs on servers

Players joining a server with a custom disc resource pack hear each disc to its end once the server runs the fix.

What the author says

The bug report for the bug this mod fixes has been marked as resolved as of Minecraft 1.21. If you still wish to listen to custom discs through just the use of a resource pack though, you will need this mod. As of 1.21 this mod now fixes the bug client-side as well, meaning you can join every server with a custom…
