JourneyMap Waypoint Syncing (JMWS)
by Rohim
With JourneyMap Waypoint Syncing, a player's JourneyMap waypoints follow their account to any device that joins the same server.
What it does
Waypoints are stored on the server under each player's account UUID rather than on one computer. A player who sets waypoints on a PC can log in from a Steam Deck or another machine and see the same markers. The mod works like a cloud store for waypoint data, similar to how a photo service shares images across devices. Only waypoint groups are uploaded, and saved JourneyMap settings are not.
The mod integrates with JourneyMap in the background, so the map keeps working as before and the sync happens without extra screens. Its configuration appears in an addon section of the JourneyMap configuration page. Migration of existing JourneyMap data happens automatically the first time a player joins a server that runs the mod. Both the server and the client need JourneyMap, and the mod can be removed later without losing the waypoints already synced.
Installation requires Fabric API and JourneyMap, with CommonNetwork installed on the server at the matching version. The mod is client and server and is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, covering 1.12.2 and 1.21.1 – 26.1.2 with ten release versions. The code is open source under the MIT License, and the source and issue tracker are public.
Key features
Account-based waypoint storage
Waypoints are saved on the server against the player's account UUID, so they appear on any device that joins.
Automatic migration
Existing JourneyMap waypoints move to the server store the first time a player joins a server running the mod.
Group-only upload
Only waypoint groups are uploaded to the server, and JourneyMap settings stay on the local client.

What the author says
If you have been using JWMS and need to migrate to JourneyMap, the migration will happen automatically when you first join a server with JM on both server and client. JMWS should be uninstalled afterwards. I have closed the Discord support server. Support will no longer be given under any circumstances including…
