Item Finder
by Vladomeme
Item Finder is a server-side Fabric utility that searches a world for items, loot tables and containers, with a global mode for generated chunks.
What it does
Searches run from a command over a large area around the player. Results list the block or entity names where a matching item stack or loot table was found, and hovering over a result shows the item stacks or loot tables it matched. Search parameters narrow the results, and containers nested inside shulker boxes and bundles are searched as well, so items tucked inside them are included.
A global mode adds a separate command that scans the whole loaded map in the current dimension. Because it covers so much ground, a global search can take a few seconds. The mod requires Fabric API and YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL), and Mod Menu is optional for opening its settings. Behaviour is controlled from the config screen, which is worth checking before a first search on a busy server.
Item Finder is published for Fabric only, across six game versions: 1.20.1, 1.21.1, 1.21.4, 1.21.6, 1.21.10 and 1.21.11, with 1.4.0 for 1.21.11 as the latest file. It is open source under the MIT License, and its source code, issue tracker and wiki are public.
Key features
Area item search
Finds matching items and loot tables across a large area around the player, not only the loaded chunks near them.
Hover details
Hovering over a search result shows the item stacks or loot tables that matched, so the source is clear without opening containers.
Nested container search
Looks inside shulker boxes and bundles found within other containers, which catches items stored in layers.
Global search command
A global mode adds a command that scans the whole loaded map in the current dimension, reaching far beyond nearby areas.
