Inventory Sorter (Configurable)

by qyurila

Inventory Sorter (Configurable) is a Forge fork that sorts storage by a sort order the player can change in the config file, and it works with Curios slots and storage mods.

ForgeClient and serverCustom license1.18.2 – 1.20.1

What it does

The mod sorts the contents of inventories and chests on a middle click or a custom hotkey. Its default arrangement is adapted from the sorting behavior in Quark, and the config file offers several other orders. Players can also group items by count first, as the original mod does, and then apply one of the other orders to items that share a count. The fork is intended to take the place of the original Inventory Sorter, so removing that mod before installing this one avoids clashes.

Sorting covers Curios slots, and an option keeps the hotbar out of the sort by default. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. Files are published for Forge only, with 23.1.9 for 1.20.1 as the latest file, under a custom license that is not open source.

Key features

  1. Configurable sort order

The order that items are arranged in can be chosen in the config file, and a change may need a relaunch.

  2. Count-first sorting

Items can be grouped by count before the chosen order is applied to items with equal counts.

  3. Hotbar protection

The hotbar is left alone by default, and the option to sort it can be switched on in the config.

  4. Curios and backpack support

Curios slots and several backpack and storage mods are covered by the sorting.

  5. Item loss failsafe

A built-in check guards against items disappearing during sorting in certain situations.
