Inventory Menu
by InfinityI
Inventory Menu lets server owners define chest-style menus in data, with placeholders that show information based on context and actions that run when a player clicks an item.
What it does
Menus are built from datapack files, so a server can add its own screens without writing Java code. Each menu is laid out like a chest inventory, and its items can be given custom names, lore and appearance. Placeholders inside those items read values from the current player and situation, so a menu can display information that changes as the game state changes.
Clicking an item can trigger one of several action types, letting a menu open another menu, run a command or change what the player sees. Because the mod is server-side only, players join without installing anything, but the server must run it and the menu definitions must be loaded through a datapack. The project is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or later, and it is published for Fabric across 16 release versions, 1.21.1 – 26.3.
Installation needs Fabric on the server. Inventory Menu's latest Fabric file is 1.2.0 for 26.3, dated 2026-09-17, and the first release was published on 2025-08-10.
Key features
Data-driven menus
Chest-style menus are defined in datapack files, so layouts can be changed without rebuilding the mod.
Placeholder system
Placeholders read values from the viewing player and the context of the menu, and display them inside item names and lore.
Click actions
Several action types can be attached to an item, so a click can open a menu, run a function or perform another set action.
Item customization
Menu items accept custom names, descriptions and appearance, allowing a menu to fit the purpose of a server.

Use cases
Who it’s for: Server owners and datapack creators who want custom menus on a Fabric server. Players need nothing installed, since the mod is server-side only.
How it compares
Lwib is client-side only, open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later, and published for Fabric 1.21.10 – 26.2, so it runs on the player's side rather than the server. LiteCorps is server-side only, with files for Fabric and NeoForge 1.21.1 – 26.2, and it is all rights reserved, so its code cannot be reused. MinimalMenuX is client-side only, open source under the CC0 1.0 Universal license, and covers 26.2 – 26.3 on Fabric.
