Instant XP Gain
by TommonPavou
Instant XP Gain grants experience straight to the player, so the experience orbs that normally appear after mob kills and mining never have to be picked up.
What it does
Instead of spawning experience orbs during gameplay, the mod adds the matching amount of XP directly to the player the moment it would have dropped. Players get the same total from the same sources, without walking over scattered orbs to collect them. The author describes the change as a performance and convenience measure: skipping orb creation lowers entity load on the game, and the removal of orb drops also covers the Ender Dragon, where the reward is distributed equally among players in multiplayer.
The mod works on either side, and neither needs it. It is published for Fabric only, across 23 release versions 1.20 – 26.2, and the latest Fabric file, 1.8.0, targets 26.2. The code is released under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 only and is open source, and the source code and issue tracker are publicly linked. Snapshot builds are not covered on the Modrinth page.
Key features
Direct XP grants
Experience from every source is added to the player immediately instead of appearing as an orb on the ground.
Reduced entity load
Because no orbs are spawned, the game has fewer entities to track, which the author links to better server and client performance.
Protection against XP farms
Removing orbs also limits experience-based lag machines that depend on large numbers of orbs.
Equal Ender Dragon reward
The dragon's experience is distributed equally among players, which keeps multiplayer rewards fair.
Simpler collection
Players no longer have to chase scattered experience, which removes a routine step from play.

How it compares
Instant Experience is a Fabric mod for client and server environments, published for 26.1.2 – 26.3 and under All rights reserved, so it is not open source. FastOrbs is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, runs as a server-side only mod and targets 26.1 – 26.3. XPMagnet is open source under the MIT License, also server-side only, and covers 1.19.4 – 1.21.11, so it changes how orbs are collected rather than removing them.
