Immersive Foods

by EPIICTHUNDERCAT

Immersive Foods adds vanilla-style food items to Forge, including soups, legs and drops from several mobs, for players who want more to eat in survival.

What it does

The mod ports the food content of the HedgeHogPie Immersive Food project to Forge and reworks some of its earlier additions. Its aim is to close the gap with vanilla by adding foods that follow the same look and use, without making crafting complicated. Items include bat wings, potato soup, carrot soup and frog legs, and several foods made from the drops of sniffers and camels, where leather is part of the recipe.

Because the foods are added on both sides, a server and every player need the mod, and the environment is client and server. Files are published for Forge only, 1.18.2 – 26.1.2, with 26.1.2-0.0.1 as the latest build for 26.1.2, dated 2026-04-28. The code is not open source and is released under All rights reserved, but the source code and issue tracker are public. The mod was first published on 2024-01-30.

Key features

  1. Ported HedgeHogPie foods

Foods from the original HedgeHogPie Immersive Food project are carried over to Forge.

  2. Soups and legs

Bat wings, potato soup, carrot soup and frog legs add new dishes to the food list.

  3. Mob drop foods

Sniffer and camel drops combine with leather to produce food items that match the animal they come from.

  4. Vanilla-like balance

Added foods are meant to fit alongside vanilla food values rather than replace them.

What the author says

Immersive Foods is a ported mod from HedgeHogPies, the original. Its goal was to build on the vanilla food structure without over-complicating what it can do. All I added was food drop equivalents to what I felt was normal...and maybe... some interesting ones.
