Immersive Weapon Draw Sounds
by UFOS
Immersive Weapon Draw Sounds replaces the sound played when a player draws a weapon, covering swords, daggers, axes, halberds, bows, pikes and shovels.
What it does
Each weapon type gets its own draw sound, so unsheathing a sword, drawing a battleaxe or pulling a bow produces a distinct clang, thunk or creak instead of one generic noise. The sounds are meant to make combat feel more believable and add detail to everyday play, and some were sourced from the Mount & Blade series to match its familiar sound of arms.
The mod runs on the Forge loader for Minecraft 1.20.1 only, and it is needed on both sides: the server and every player need it. It integrates with Epic Knights, and the mod's license is the MIT License, but its code is not open source. The 1.1.0 file for 1.20.1 was published on 2024-08-22, and the first release arrived on 2024-08-12, so the mod is recent and receives its updates on that line.
Key features
Distinct draw sounds
Swords, daggers, axes, halberds, bows, pikes and shovels each play a separate sound when drawn.
Mount & Blade inspired audio
Several sounds were taken from recordings tied to the Mount & Blade Warband series, which gives the game a familiar feel.
Medieval combat sound
The clang of an unsheathed sword and the thunk of a drawn battleaxe are the kind of sounds this mod is built around.
Epic Knights integration
The sounds work alongside the Epic Knights mod, extending its medieval combat with matching draw audio.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Use cases
Immersive survival play
Players who want weapons to feel heavier can use the sounds to add layers of detail during fights.
Medieval modpacks
Modpacks built around knights and medieval combat can add the sounds to give weapon handling a more authentic character.
Who itβs for: Players who want weapon handling to sound more distinct, and server owners running medieval or Epic Knights-based packs. Because both sides need the mod, it is most useful on servers where every player installs it.
