Immersive Balance + Ore Doubling

by paulbevzyuk

Immersive Balance + Ore Doubling brings ore doubling back to Immersive Engineering's Crusher and Arc Furnace, as it worked before 1.17.

ForgeNeoForgeServer required, client optionalCC0 1.0 Universal1.17 – 1.20.1

What it does

The mod restores the ore doubling that Immersive Engineering had before version 1.17, applying it to both the Crusher and the Arc Furnace. Doubling is delivered through a data pack, so it is installed by placing the ieDoubling folder into the world's datapacks folder, with no code or configuration needed for a basic setup.

For servers that use CraftTweaker, the mod can be combined with CraftTweaker scripts. Those scripts are needed to disable the default recipes that yield 33.3 percent of the ore output, and they also cover modded materials, which have to be added separately. A file included with the mod disables the Immersive Engineering crates so the economy stays balanced.

The server must run the mod, while players may leave it out. Files are published for Forge and NeoForge, with builds for 1.17 – 1.20.1 under the CC0 1.0 Universal license, which is not open source. The latest file, 2.5 for 1.20.1, dates from 2024-09-11.

Key features

  1. Ore doubling in the Crusher

Crusher recipes return the doubled ore yield that Immersive Engineering used before 1.17.

  2. Ore doubling in the Arc Furnace

The Arc Furnace gets the same restored doubling, so both processing machines share one balance.

  3. Data pack delivery

The doubling ships as a data pack that is dropped into the world's datapacks folder.

Questions

Does the mod need CraftTweaker?

CraftTweaker is only needed when scripts are used to disable the default 33.3 percent recipes or to add modded materials. A basic setup runs with the data pack alone.

Does the server need this mod, and do players?

The server must run the mod, while players may leave it out; a player who joins without it is not blocked.

Which game versions does the mod support?

Builds cover 1.17 – 1.20.1, with 1.20.1 the latest, and the Forge and NeoForge files for 1.20.1 are both version 2.5.
