IleafCore

by IleafDevelopment

IleafCore is a library that gives other mods shared helper methods and a bridge between the Fabric and NeoForge mod loaders.

FabricNeoForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.20.1 – 26.2

What it does

Most of IleafCore works behind the scenes. Its code supplies useful methods that other mods call, and it provides an abstraction layer so that one body of code can run on both Fabric and NeoForge. Players rarely see it directly, because its job is to keep dependent mods running.

Motlin is required and must be installed alongside IleafCore. Servers that run it need every player to install it too. Files are published for Fabric and NeoForge across 10 release versions, 1.20.1 – 26.2, with the 3.0 build for 26.2 as the latest file on both loaders. Colorful Paradise is one of the catalog mods that depend on it.

Key features

  1. Shared helper methods

Methods written once in IleafCore can be called by other mods, reducing duplicated code across a modpack.

  2. Cross-loader abstraction

A single abstraction layer sits between Fabric and NeoForge, so dependent mods are not rewritten separately for each loader.

  3. Prefab blocks and items

The library includes prefabricated blocks and items that other mods can reuse as a starting point.

  4. Developer-focused design

Players who only play the game are unlikely to notice it, since the library exists to support other mods rather than add gameplay of its own.

Use cases

Modpack maintenance

A modpack that combines several Fabric and NeoForge mods can use IleafCore so that its dependent mods share one set of helpers.

Mod development

Developers who want to target both loaders can build on the abstraction layer rather than maintaining two separate code paths.

Who it’s for: Mod developers building on Fabric or NeoForge, and modpack authors who include mods that depend on IleafCore. Players who only install finished content usually do not need to think about it beyond keeping it present.

Questions

Does IleafCore need Motlin?

Yes. Motlin is listed as a required dependency, so it has to be installed next to IleafCore.

Does IleafCore have to be installed on the server?

Yes. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too.

Which game versions does IleafCore support?

Files cover 1.20.1, 1.21, 1.21.1, 1.21.3, 1.21.4, 1.21.5, 26.1, 26.1.1, 26.1.2 and 26.2 for Fabric and NeoForge.

What license covers IleafCore?

IleafCore is released under All rights reserved, so the code is not open source.

In the catalog

IleafCore is one of 3,514 Library mods on ModsFinder, and one of 2,348 Library mods for Fabric. 13,894 mods support Minecraft 26.2.

There's nothing to see here! This mod contains the behind-the-scenes magic that keeps my other mods running. Unless another mod asks for it, you probably don't need it. 😄 Developed by the IleafMC Team which is a part of IleafDevelopment. Stay in touch
