HyskBlockUpdateInhibition

by YkinLing

HyskBlockUpdateInhibition lets server operators pause selected neighbor-driven block updates for Fabric on Minecraft 1.21.11.

FabricServer-side onlyBSD 2-Clause License1.21.11

What it does

The mod targets the replaceWithStateForNeighborUpdate method, so only block replacements triggered by neighbor updates are blocked. Other behavior, such as redstone TNT activation through a neighbor update, is left in place by default. Operators with OP permission can pause and resume these updates through commands, so the effect can be toggled during play.

Inhibition can also stop a chain of identical blocks, such as nether portals, bamboo and sugar cane, from spreading through neighbor updates. Map builders may find this useful for special designs or portal creation, where long neighbor-update chains are unwanted. The author recommends a safe backup on a mod server before testing.

Installation needs Fabric API on the server. The mod is server-side only, so players join without installing it. It is released under the BSD 2-Clause License and is not open source, and the only published file is 1.0.0 for 1.21.11, dated 2026-03-30.

A Fabric mod for Minecraft that allows players with OP permissions to pause or resume certain block updates via commands. When inhibition is enabled, the chain destruction of same-type blocks (such as nether portals, bamboo, sugar cane, etc.) no longer triggers neighbor updates, which is useful for special map…
