High Level Enchants

by elmartino4

High Level Enchants raises the maximum enchantment levels in Minecraft, changing how anvils, loot and librarians handle enchanting.

FabricClient and serverApache License 2.0Open source1.17.1 – 1.18.1

What it does

Vanilla caps most enchantments at a fixed level. High Level Enchants lets that cap be raised, and a config option sets the new maximum, including removing the limit entirely at level 255. The anvil's level limit can be changed as well, and the mod extends the limit command so that higher enchantments remain reachable. Changes to bookshelf detection and loot generation mean higher-level enchantments can also appear in the world.

Higher-level librarians can offer better enchanting, and the mod expands the area in which a bookshelf is counted when an enchanting table is used. The mod runs on Fabric for 1.17.1 – 1.18.1, and the server can run it alone. Files are published for 1.17.1, 1.18 and 1.18.1, with 1.0.0-1.18 as the latest build. The code is open source under the Apache License 2.0.

Key features

  1. Higher enchantment caps

Enchantments can reach levels above the vanilla maximum, with the new limit set in the config.

  2. Adjustable anvil limit

The level limit for anvil combining can be changed to suit a server's balance.

  3. Loot and librarian changes

Loot tables and higher-level librarians offer enchantments above the standard levels.

  4. Bookshelf detection area

The area the enchanting table checks for bookshelves is widened, so more shelves count toward enchanting power.

Use cases

Long progression on a server

Server owners can raise the caps so that late-game players keep finding enchantments that scale further.

Testing high-level gear

Players in single-player worlds can give themselves very high enchantment levels with the limit command to test builds.

Who it’s for: Players who want enchantments to scale beyond the vanilla maximum, and server owners who set enchanting limits for a community. Because only the server needs to apply the settings, players on a server that runs the mod need it too.
