Hide Names Fabric
Hide Names removes the username tags that float above players, which lets groups play hide-and-seek on a Fabric server or LAN world.
What it does
Name tags are the only thing taken out. Compasses, maps and other tracking items keep working, so a hidden name does not disable navigation. Where a player stands behind a block, the name is normally obscured anyway, and the mod is described as applying to transparent objects as well. Players who want a simple fun setting for a hide-and-seek round can turn the tags off for everyone in one step.
A player tag visibility setting lets admins switch name visibility on or off for a multiplayer server. Default visibility settings keep player names shown until an admin changes them. An enchantment for armour helmets hides a player's name regardless of obstructions, so a wearer can stay anonymous in a crowd. The mod needs Fabric API to run, and its single file targets 1.21, published as an alpha build on 2025-03-14 under the MIT License, which is open source.
