Haunted Harvest

by MehVahdJukaar

Haunted Harvest adds a seasonal layer to villages, with villagers trick or treating, pumpkin carving and a new corn crop during the Halloween period.

FabricForgeNeoForgeClient and serverCustom license1.19.2 – 26.1.2

What it does

During the Halloween season, adult villagers place pumpkins around the village on grass or sand above y=64, outside their work hours. Baby villagers carve any pumpkin they see during their play time, and at night they try to light the last one they carved. Baby villagers also wear one of eight masks at night, including creeper, pumpkin, zombie and enderman.

Once night falls, baby villagers go door to door trick or treating. An adult may hand over a random candy, or coal if it has none, and the child then moves on to another villager. Children who receive no candy may throw eggs instead. A witch frightens children away and may give a rotten apple, and rarely a grim apple. During the day children eat the candy they have collected, which ages them slightly and heals them, so they can keep trick or treating over several nights.

Haunted Harvest requires Moonlight Lib, and it is released under a custom license and is not open source. It is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, and the environment is client and server, so the server and every player need it. Files cover 1.19.2, 1.20, 1.20.1, 1.20.2, 1.21, 1.21.1 and 26.1.2.

Key features

  1. Trick or treating

Baby villagers visit adult villagers at night and receive candy, which changes where they go next.

  2. Pumpkin carving

Baby villagers carve pumpkins during play time, and adults place pumpkins on suitable ground in the village.

  3. Corn crop

A three-block-tall rare crop that grows in abandoned farms and crafts into popcorn or candy corn.

  4. Rotten and grim apples

Rotten apples drop from oak and dark oak leaves, and combining them with other ingredients makes a grim apple.

  5. Splattered eggs

Eggs thrown at any block leave a splattered egg on it.
