Happy Ghast Stopper
by Glitchybun
Happy Ghast Stopper is a data pack that stops a Happy Ghast from roaming once its harness is renamed STOP.
What it does
When a Happy Ghast wears a harness with the name STOP, the data pack halts its roaming, and the ghast stays where it was left. The effect applies automatically and needs no command. Removing the harness with shears works as it does in the base game, which lets a player return the ghast to flight for simple transportation when the task is finished.
The behaviour persists through dimension changes and chunk unloading, so a stopped ghast does not start drifting when its area reloads. The mod is aimed at players and server owners who find roaming ghasts a nuisance. Installation needs Fabric API on Fabric, and Quilt does not install it automatically because the Fabric tag is the only one required.
Only the server needs the mod to run the data pack, while players may leave it out. Files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, covering 1.21.6 – 26.3 with 11 release versions, and the latest file targets 26.3. The code is licensed under the BSD 3-Clause License and is not open source.
Key features
Automatic stopping
A Happy Ghast whose harness is named STOP stays put instead of roaming, with no extra setup.
Name-based trigger
Renaming a harness to STOP in uppercase is the only step, using the anvil the way any naming works.
Persistence across changes
The stopped state survives dimension changes and chunk unloading.
Normal harness removal
Shears remove the harness as in the base game, so the ghast can fly again for transport.

Stationary ghasts
A ghast can be parked at a build site or farm and remain there while the player works elsewhere.
Quick hop back to flight
After a trip, removing the harness returns the ghast to normal flight.
Who it’s for: Server owners and players who want ghasts to stay where they are left, with a name-based setting that needs no commands.

Happy Speed - Happy Ghast Enchantment is an enchantment mod under All rights reserved, published for 1.21.6 – 26.2. Happy Ghast Stopper instead keys its behaviour to a harness name and does not change speed.

What the author says
I know I hate it, so I created this Mod / Datapack. By equipping the Happy Ghast with a Harness with the name "STOP" these annoyances do not need to be worried about any longer.
