Happy Ghast [FORGE/NEOFORGE]

by niftyweaver

Happy Ghast [FORGE/NEOFORGE] adds tameable, rideable Ghasts from the Nether, so players can befriend them, ride them and use them as companions.

ForgeNeoForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.19.2 – 1.21.1

What it does

The mod turns the hostile Ghast into a friendly creature. Baby Ghastlings can be raised over time until they become full-sized Happy Ghasts. The peaceful, rideable versions do not attack players, and the mod is built around taming, riding and befriending these creatures in the Nether, so progression comes from nurturing them rather than avoiding them.

Happy Ghasts can serve both as companions and as mounts, and the mod includes glasses, saddles and accessories for them. Players can add custom harnesses with the ghast createharness command, which works only locally. The mod loads on Forge and NeoForge and its files cover 1.19.2 – 1.21.1. It needs to be installed on the client and the server, and it is not open source; it is released under All rights reserved.

Key features

  1. Rideable Happy Ghasts

Full-sized Happy Ghasts can be ridden and used as mounts, with saddles for control.

  2. Baby Ghastlings

Baby Ghastlings grow into full Happy Ghasts over time, giving players a creature to raise.

  3. Peaceful companions

The friendly Ghasts do not attack players, so they can follow and assist during adventures.

  4. Accessories and harnesses

Glasses, saddles and accessories can be fitted to the creatures, and custom harnesses can be added locally.

  5. Custom textures

Players can add their own Happy Ghast textures in a folder in the game directory, using a 2:1 ratio such as 128×64 that fits the UV mapping.
