Ghasts Update

Ghasts Update adds a Happy Ghast that players can saddle, ride and fly across the world, along with a dried ghast block, a smaller Ghastling and a floating platform for leaving the mount.
What it does
The mod takes features from the March 2025 Minecraft Live announcements and adds them to the game as a set of ghast-related content. A saddle lets the rider share a Happy Ghast with up to three other players, who can all mount and fly it around the world. Dismounting onto the floating platform leaves the rider standing on the air, where they can walk.
Dried ghasts are found in Soul Sand Valley. Collecting and placing water in the Overworld starts the undrying process, which takes five minutes and passes through four phases before the ghast turns into a Ghastling, a smaller and cuter version of the ghast. Feeding snowballs helps a Happy Ghast grow. A gamerule sets how much faster undrying begins, and another controls the undry value.
A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. It is published for Forge and NeoForge, and files cover 1.19.2, 1.20.1 and 1.21.1. The latest builds are 1.0.5 for 1.20.1 on Forge and 1.0.5 for 1.21.1 on NeoForge, both dated 2025-03-26. The code is covered by All rights reserved, so the mod is not open source.

A ghast saddle, crafted from leather, glass and blue wool, lets up to four players mount one Happy Ghast together.

Dried ghasts found in Soul Sand Valley pass through four phases over five minutes when water is placed near them.

A new, smaller version of the ghast that appears at the end of the undrying process.
Inventory access
Sneaking and right-clicking a ghast opens its inventory, and snowballs help it grow.
